The track regulations and house rules have been drawn up to make skating and visiting the Ice Rink Haarlem fun, inspiring and as safe as possible for everyone. We therefore ask you to adhere to the house rules and the track regulations. Simply observe the rules of conduct and social interaction that are common in the Netherlands, that makes life for everyone during skating and staying along the track or in the complex more pleasant.

1. General house rules

  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the complex.
  • Place sports bags in the racks provided for this purpose along the track or in the changing rooms. Do not place or leave bags in the entrance hall or the restaurant while skating.
  • Throw rubbish in the waste bins.
  • Bicycles in the bicycle racks in front of the complex and at the sports hall.
  • Follow the instructions of the staff.
  • Bringing (domestic) animals into the complex is not permitted.
  • Changing clothes and/or putting on your skates must be done in the changing rooms, not in the entrance hall or in the restaurant of the ice rink.
  • Skating under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted.
  • Verbal and physical violence, including threats or inappropriate behaviour, will not be tolerated.
  • If relevant: IJsbaan Haarlem follows the measures and regulations of the government in the field of safety and public health. IJsbaan Haarlem reserves the right to apply or implement these in accordance with the instructions of the government.

2. Track rules

  • Wearing gloves is mandatory when skating.
  • Never enter the ice of the 400-meter track with shoes on without permission from management.
  • Do not ride against the direction of travel on the 400-meter track. The correct direction of travel is counterclockwise.
  • Do not sit on the boarding.
  • Keep the inside of the 400-meter track free for speed skaters.
  • Skate out and skate calmly on the outside of the 400-meter track (along the boarding).
  • Stand still on the outside of the track (along the boarding) during track maintenance.
  • Follow the instructions of the staff of the IJsbaan Haarlem. Ice hockey sticks, pucks, racks, skating stools, chairs, sledges and other skating aids are not permitted on the 400-meter track.
  • Sledges (sleds) are also not permitted on the 30×110-meter track. Excepted from this rule are para-ice hockey sledges (which are propelled by the user himself using two prodding sticks).

3. Violation of rules and regulations

  • Violation of the house rules and/or the track regulations and/or improper, undesirable behavior – including, but not limited to verbal and physical violence – may lead to denial of access, exclusion from participation in activities or confiscation of the access pass provided or the subscription for a specific or indefinite period, without the IJsbaan Haarlem being obliged to refund paid entrance, subscription or other fees or otherwise becoming liable for damages to the visitor. In the event of improper and/or aggressive behavior and/or physical violence, a report may be filed with the police.

5. Liability

  • The IJsbaan Haarlem is not liable for theft, loss or damage to property of users and/or visitors of the complex.
  • Entering the terrain, using the facilities and skating are at your own risk. Ice is a natural product. The quality of the ice floor depends on the weather and the use of the ice by the skaters. The ice rink provides the ice according to a schedule. Nevertheless, damage to the ice floor, such as cracks and crevices, can always occur through use (skating). Skaters are themselves responsible for signalling and anticipating damage that (may) occur during skating. Report damage to the ice masters as soon as possible.
  • The IJsbaan Haarlem is also not liable for any injury caused by third parties, including users and/or visitors of the IJsbaan Haarlem.

7. Skate safely

  • Skate safely, protect your head, hands and ankles! The IJsbaan Haarlem strongly advises to wear a helmet while skating. No helmet? Then wear at least a (thick) hat. Do not skate with bare ankles and preferably protect your ankles with cut-resistant ankle protectors. 8. First Aid

  • First Aid In the event of an accident, report this to the ice master as soon as possible. To do this, use the first aid telephone on the central field and along the 400-meter track (see the letter “+” on the map below). This will call the ice master on duty. The ice masters are first aid qualified. There are two AEDs present (one of which is in the restaurant). See the letter “A” on the map below for the AEDs on the track.
